Unlike unmanaged servers where the client has to have his own computer technician, the provider manages downtimes, system restorations, and even communicates with the provider if there is a line issue. It would be cheaper to avail an unmanaged server, but more companies find it more profitable in the long run.

Unmanaged servers are oftentimes viewed by some clients as more personalized. The way the server behaves will be based primarily on the type of system the client prefers. Although the provider still replaces necessary equipments in case of malfunction, they do not provide technical support and if they do, it is very limited. In case of downtime, the client needs to contact the internet service provider first to check on the line performance before they call the server provider.

One can easily choose based on his needs and technical ability. There is a multitude of dedicated server providers and the prices vary greatly.
